Should I close my businesses down and claim jobseekers allowance?

My husband and I have two businesses. Both Ltd companies. Both not doing well. One of them will probably go in to liquidation in about 6 months, but., in the meantime, we get no income from it at all.

The second is about to run out of money (was started on an overdraft, which we can't yet pay back... Once we are at the overdraft limit, there is no more money).

We are in a desperate situation as we will have NO income from anywhere from next month. We have a mortgage and a child.

Does anyone know if t here are any entitlements out there to suit this situation?

Do I have to legally wind up the companies to claim jobseekers allowance?
