I am going on holiday to Mautitius next week, and I was wondering if I would be better taking Sterling or US$ Travellers Cheques? I'm aware there are lots of ATMs, but have always found Travellers Cheques more reassuring. Any advice? Many thanks.

Sterling ones will cost you less in fees/commission/other charges.

But it depends how much you are prepared to pay for reassurance as to whether it's a good idea.
I would suggest taking US Dollar Travellers Cheques opposed to Sterling.
