If I lost more than 12% in one month in a mutual fund would it be best for me if I were to withdraw the money or should I leave it in a bit longer, what is a good indication of when I should take it out. The MER is 2.88% by the way.

When your mutual fund is performing worse than the average for that sector you should sell. Don't sell all at once. Hedge your bets by staggering your sell across 3 months. That way you average your loses. Looking into buying a more stable mutual fund.
