I run two Brownie units that are both desperately in needs of money, but I hate using fundraising methods that involve asking the parents for money. Can anyone think of any way to raise cash that doesnt involve asking for money?

You dont have to ask them directly for money, how about getting the troop to do sponsored events - walks, cycle rides, sponsored silences, car washes etc? That will get everyone involved and it's not asking directly for money but people will think theyre helping out. Or you could approach local businesses, do a mail drop around local business parks etc and ask for donations.
Hi Immi, fellow Tawny Owl here!!

I assume you are claiming your gift aid?

What about a bag pack or car wash at the nearest supermarket with all your leaders and Brownies out in one concerted force? Do you have County Training Days? We do and units are allowed to do fundraisers such as buying in bulk and selling off in small packs, or even a tombola.

If you are really desperate maybe you need to really put your subs up...

you could ask people to donate unwanted items such as clothes books bric a brac etc and do a car boot or jumble sale.everyone has something they dont need or use anymore which they are usually only too happy to donate especially for a good cause good luck.
