wireless router

i am looking for a wireless router. the problem i have is that my phone socket is in my hallway where the computer is. this in not convinient and i would like the pc in another room. is there such a device where i could plug a device into the phone socket but not connected to the pc. an then use the pc in a different room.

Thats what the wireless router is for. You plug it into the phone socket |(in your hallway in this case) and move your PC where ever in the house you want it. Then its a case of adding a wireless adapter to the pc, either through a USB wireless dongle or a PCI wireless card.
