We have sold our house and on the deeds it has been picked up that we have an alley way next to us that our property goes over. But this is not listed on our deeds and states that we have a right of way on foot only over the passage. This was not picked up when we purchased can any one advise us on how to solve this problem as no one can see who owns this alley way and outher property's have right of way.

If your property is a terraced house, the passageway was probably the old way of removing the sewrage from the property before the main drains were built. You can usually tell it this is the case if the passageway was only through the lower floor and ran right through to the back of the terrace. If that is so, it would normally work out that there was perhaps one passageway to 2 or three houses in a terrace, as this use stopped over time, the passageway was bricked up and the downstairs extended to incorporate it into the living area.
