A family member is in some debt and has arranged a meeting with someone from Eurodebt. I have looked at their website (www.eurodebt.co.uk) and I'm a bit dubious about it all.

Has anyone used this service and are you able to recommend it (or a similar company)?

I'd be grateful for any comments. Thanksl.

I would have thought the local Citizens Advice Bureau would have been a better option, principally because they offer help to negotiate with creditors in the same was as this eurodebt company, but they dont charge anything for their services.
The company I work for uses Eurodebt. They are legitimate. The financial institution I work for does not normally pay any attention to CAB if the debt becomes anything like serious.
I agree with the comment on the CAB. I found their advice militant, to say the least. They gave me the impression that they wanted you to be dishonest with the creditors? I eventually became a client of Bains & Ernst. I think EuroDebt offer the same good service.
They seem to be just another fee charging debt management company. They may be "legitimate" but this doesn't mean they are the best option for the debtor. The local CAB or CCCS or Payplan all do the same job free of charge. Creditors cannot attempt to dictate which advice service debtors use - they could be in breach of OFT guidelines if they tried, or if they ignored an advice agency.

Thanks. Payplan look better. I'll get him to try them instead.
