Oh Bathsheba - I envy your logo so much.....

Julie C and Terence S in Far from the madding crowd 1967 I think

You could get £40 a day as an extra and an incredible amount if you could ride side saddle and brought your own horse and er side saddle

Bono ? - well er...
and to get old Farmer Ding-dang's Dorset long horns to lie down in the first scene where the dog drives the sheep over the cliff ( Hardy was hardly a comedian) - they had to give them twice the lethal dose of sheep-sleep just to get them to lie down.

Technically not quite right, U2 were paid a couple of quid by Apple for the album...

choosing to give something away is not the same as having something stolen from you

Until recently, I thought the chap in the funny coloured glasses was called bone-o, which shows how with-it I am I suppose !
Question Author
@ Mikey,.....give over now,....you know perfectly well that nobody has used the expression "with-it" for the last 35 years ;)

Far from the Madding Crowd is one of my very favourite books, I longed to be Bathsheba Everdene as a teenager and I always thought Julie Christie was not the right choice. For some mad reason they are doing a remake, open auditions for extras were held in Dorset earlier this year,
Just checked when I saw you post, answered x

@ Prudie....one of faves also. I know what you mean about Julie Christie,....she was gorgeous in it, but not really suited to the role.
Hopefully the link I've put up will show ok,....I see Carey Mulligan's going to be me, lol!

I know, I read the book before I saw the film and imagined her as a dark sultry type, more Liz Taylor style.
Bathsheba..."With it" is one of my favourite phrases ! It always amuses me that not many younger people understand what it means, despite being very with it ! Apparently "cool" is the current phrase, although this just means not very warm to me.

Does anyone know why this Bono chap wears yellow tinted specs ? Does he have a sight condition or is he just being pretentious ?
he uses the glasses to protect his blue eyes. "[I have] very sensitive eyes to light. If somebody takes my photograph, I will see the flash for the rest of the day," he said.
