You've Got To Laugh Haven't You?

Hi There,
My son who lives at home is running up lots of debts. Not for huge amounts (not that I'm aware of), but he has quite a few companies chasing him. My main worry is that we will be blacklisted. Someone has told me that a property is no longer blacklisted but the person themselves. Please could you advise if this is correct? It would be such a relief should they be right.
Many thanks in advance.
Regards
K Johnson

However - a word of caution. If your son has the same surname, it may be possible for an association to be made with you. This could be if your son applies for credit and lets say the credit company asks if a parent would be guarantor. They then may search you and make an association (they should not do this without your permission, but your son may say its okay).
Best thing to do if you are worried is to have a look at your credit file. You can obtain these from www.experian.co.uk and www.equifax.co.uk. Both these companies also have useful advice on their websites.
It may be an idea for your son to get one to, and he will then ,maybe realise how low his score will be and how it may effect him in a few years time
