my husband has a credit card and has another person as the additional card holder. If something was to happen to my husband who would have to pay the balance me his wife, or the additional cardholder?

I'm probably wrong but something tells me that (surprisingly) the additional card holder isn't liable for any of the debt.
stevie my instinct is the same as yours. However, why would the additional cardholder not be responsible. As long as this person is over 18 and belletinker doesn't have ANY access to the account, sure she cannot be held responsible.

stevie is quite right.

I have a Creidt Card, with my b/f as Additional cardholder. When I agreed to this I read the small print, and it stated that I was responsible for debts on both cards,BUT the 2nd Cardholder was NOT as I was the principal cardholder. If anything happened to your Husband (I presume you mean if he died) then either the Credit Card Debt would be wiped out (not sure about that) OR the whole Credit Card Debt would be payable out of Husbands Estate. With no comeback to the 2nd Cardholder.

nfn,

It is to stop any bickering over the debt.Quite rightly the banks say,you authorised this person to have a card,so if they cannot pay, then you must.

I agree - if the first card holders er - catches the bus to Russell Square - then it [the outstanding amount]becomes a charge on his estate.

I have a second card holder on my card and I am aware that I am responsible for the costs that are run up. Watch Judge Judy - full of second card holders and people who sign up to pay debts and then dont wanna.

Blimey Mystress, I'm keeping my cards to myself.

BTW I like the magenta
