Hi could someone help me with this please ? I work full time and also have a self employed part time job. Last year when i did my tax return it said i had to pay £1400 plus £700 by January 2012 and a further £700 by the end of July 2012, which i did. The two payments of £700 being on account to count towards this years tax. I have done my return for this year but not submitted it yet as I am not sure how to show those two payments. On the summary it has similar amounts to be paid in 2013, but obviously I have already paid £1400 towards it. Hope this mkes sense and someone can explain how I do this. TIA Jasmin

I dont think you can claim tax payments as expenses; you could mention the payments in 'notes' at end of accounts.

HMRC will have your payments recorded on their files.
