Asbestosis and Benefits Entitlement

My Grandad has just been diagnosed with Asbestosis at the age of 78. I have tried looking on the Direct.gov website and it says you cannot claim and Industrial Injuries Benefits if you were self employed in the work that caused the illness, as far as I know he was employed by his father before joining the Navy. My Grandparents are very proud people and wouldn't dream of asking anyone for help or advice about help they would be entitled to and I would like to find out if there is anything they can claim so that I can perhaps put some advice their way?

I have no connection with these people (who I found when I googled) but this is a no win no fee site about this topic http://www.asbestos-c.../asbestos-claims.html
This site might be of help:
http://www.aduk.org.uk/
(Note, however, that despite the .org.uk domain name, it appears to be directing you towards a firm of specialist solicitors).

It might also be worth checking whether there's a local support group who can advise you:

This page may also be relevant. (Check the links at the top right):

Thank you very much I will check those out. Could anyone enlighten me as to why an answer was removed from this thread? :/
I can't remember whether it was me, or someone else, who removed that answer but it was probably from a spammer. (There have been several spammers flooding all threads with irrelevant advertising material lately. AB's moderators, including myself, have been kept busy removing such posts).
