I need to get an online credit/debit card to use for shopping online

The ones that you load up with a certain amount of cash to make online purchases. I'd like a visa one. Do you use these kinds of cards to make online shopping more safe and if you do please please give me a bit of advice on the best and safest one to get and the costs etc.. as i need one asap to a few online purchases as in now, lol.

I had an o2 one
They now do a different one with some charges. The o2 one used to be free but AFAIK there are no absolutely free ones out there now

have you got a bank account already? - if so you could set up a PayPal account, which is a safe way of sending money on-line, you never have to give the sellers your own bank details.

A lot of retailers won't accept PayPal though.

I use my normal credit card, especially for larger purchases as the law gives extra protection for credit card sales if things go wrong.

I have a credit card limit £100 just for on line purchases, make a note of each purchase though, date, time etc any ref number they give you.cross reference when credit card statement arrives.If they ask can they increase your credit limit say no.dont use this card for anything else. and its easy to keep track. I also have a Peypal acct for E Bay purchases.

Apply fo an AA spend and earn. they dont charge for transactions or putting money on the card. If you are a member the card is free, if not I think its about £9.00. Much cheaper than Cash Plus.
