Try this site:
http://www.wilsdenauctions.co.uk/ I was there (first time) on Wednesday, 6th June. They sell what I call 'down to earth' items, rather than the more upmarket silver, glass, paintings, and so on. If you would like any more details, post a message on this thread. |

...and you might find these useful:
www.tennants-ltd.co.uk www.cwharrison.com www.davidduggleby.com www.sheffieldauctiongallery.com www.gilbert-baitson.co.uk www.dahauctions.com www.hartleysauctions.co.uk These two don't appear to have websites: 1. Harrogate Auction Centre, Leeds Road, Harrogate. Tel. 01423 873700 Mobile: 07860 273041. 2. Boulton & Cooper, Central Salerooms, Pickering. Tel. 01751 476662 (Saleroom): Tel. 01653 696151 (Head Office). |

I can't think of any in or near Edinburgh unless they are very small. As has been said here all auction houses seek to maximise the price obtained. To do this they need maximum publicity. The internet provides a very cheap way to achieve this.
