Yesterday an ABer of eight years duration had a thread removed, presumably after a complaint by a certain gentleman, for starting a new thread to thank posters for answers on a previous thread.

It is much appreciated that ABers show their appreciation and yes perhaps it was the wrong thing to do, yes it should have been on the original thread, but here was an ABer who was not a regular, contributor giving feedback and was rewarded with having her/his thread "pulled."

What message does this send out to respected ABers? An insensitve and totally unnecessary withdrawal of a well wishing ABer.

I agree with you. I also don't think 'threads about removed threads' should always be removed as sometimes they spark a decent debate.
That is ridiculous, makes my blood boil. Stupid and petty, I am.ashamed of the editor for allowing it.
I see the price of cod has gone up this week...
What about the cost of thread Snags? And have you seen the cost of cupcake casing???!!!!
The price of COD ?

The video game ?
Ridiculous! Let's decapitate 'em, then we can get back to important issues, like what we all had for lunch/breakfast etc.
(are they still called "video" games?)
How much is cod at the co-op today B00 ?
what message does it send out? that the rules apply to everyone perhaps?
Dunno SD not looked- but i can when next in which is tomorrow- you wanna?
Perhaps not - on second thoughts, just slap me with a haddock
You should do a co-op 'deal of the week' thread, B00...
Gawd, really ummmm? Can think of nowt more depressing tbh, lol.
Sorry sqad - frivolous moment :)

To answer your original post - I think that there will always be 'judgment calls' about when a thread transgresses Site Rules/guidelines. Perhaps the one you refer to was taken out a trifle over-zealously, it happens sometimes unfortunately.
That would be advertising and Boo would have to suspend herself.....
I've posted special offer threads...

Yeah B00....I have one just down the road.
We have one too, but it's in this really dodgy bandit territory in between the town centre and the park.

I don't think I'd go there.
I don't have one and feel like I'm missing out.
You can have ours, snags
I had poached eggs on toast with salmon and toms .
