i want to work in a call centre but i am on a debt management plan could i stil be employed at one and what does your credit rating have to do with the ability to do the job

my background is switchboard and i have customer service experience so is it the fact that if they do a credit check the debt management plan comes up

I've worked at quite a few call centres and I think this is the definitive answer.

It all depends on the call centre. If it is for, or on behalf of, a financial institution or anyone dealing with credit cards etc, then yes definitely.
If it's not, then it depends on the call centre. Some go for...

It all depends on the call centre. If it is for, or on behalf of, a financial institution or anyone dealing with credit cards etc, then yes definitely.
If it's not, then it depends on the call centre. Some go for credit checks on all contracts, but some don't bother if you will not be dealing with bank details etc.
The very best thing to do is ask them up front. Especially as call centres are often recruiting to short deadlines so will offer a job conditionally and start you in training before the checks come back. It's really embarrassing then, if they come to get you in the middle of a training session to escort you off the premises.
Also, is some cases a management plan might not be an issue if you are paying off everything.
Just aks them, they won't be embarrassed and you shouldn't either.
