I want to know which option in the nhs pension changes would be best for me. I have to give my choice by Oct 16th, and was wondering how I could work out the best of the options on offer.

You need to get professional advice. I believe it`s illegal to for amateurs to advise on such things.
I think you need to decide first whether you want to retire at 60 or 65 then look at the choices. I opted for the new scheme and to retire at 65 as it paid out better but I have friends who have stuck with the old scheme. Depends on your length of service too. Not an easy decision and everyone's case is different. Have you got anyone who's good with figures who could go through it with you?
I'm on the old scheme ( 29 years in ). But the Tories about to make an announcement on public sector pensions, aren't they ? Everything could be up in the air again.
