Why wasn't there a large police presence seeing that there was such a large party of youths at a meeting on knife crime?

This meeting had to be brought to a close after trouble broke out, prompting around 100 youths to spill out onto the streets around 10.30pm.

Isn't it time for the introduction of curfews in certain areas, and for the accumulation of large groups of youths to be broken up?

why should you need police presence for a 15 year olds party! I think th problem is with these "communitites" not the MET. I am sure that curfews would work.
Callous maybe, but why bother? These are gangs fighting over territory, postcodes, in a almost tribal way. It's ingrained and will never be prevented. Provided they keep the killings in-house, then let them self-limit.
..the problem is they don't and they use the same knives to mug people..
These pond life love the glory,

I suggest hiring out Wembley Stadium or if many of these 'hard' nuts turn coward somewhere smaller like the O2,

and let these idiots turn up tooled up as they like and let them get on with it,

if these t0$$rs think postcodes are so important they could wear baseball caps with their postcode on it and i would encourage extra score points for a single death blow, reducing down to a simple stabbing.

That should at least thin out this sub-class.

It would put an end to reality TV that's for sure.
The irony is that it was at an event to protest at stabbing!!This sort of behaviour is a way of life to many members of the black population.
