Jenny...there are a few non-DAB radios out there, but why exclude DAB ? At some point in the near future, the FM signals are going to be turned off.

I have a new Fiesta, and this is my first car with a DAB/FM radio. I thought perhaps I might have to keep switching between DAB and FM but haven't used the FM since I drove away from the showroom 2 months ago.

DAB will do everything that you want a FM radio to do, and lots more besides. For instance, some radio stations are not transmitted on FM, like Radio 4 Extra.

If you have a large branch of Currys near you, pay them a visit and you can try out all the different radios.

But don't shut the door on DAB ....you would just be driving up a very short cul-de-sac !
I agree with Mikey Conne...extra stations on DAB that I am sure you would enjoy, especially radio 4 extra...FM will go one day and you will need to get one then anyway..go to any large supermarket or electrical store..or AMAZON..
Jenny....I have 6 radios around the house ( yes 6 ! ) and I have a personal favourite make....PURE. My latest purchase is this one :::

Nice big, easy to read display.
I have a pure in the kitchen Mikey..a bedside radio alarm DAB too...another DAB for taking into garden
oh and a wall mounted multi media thingy doodah with DAB in living room
Minty...I guess we are just radio freaks !

I also have 2 DABs in the caravan, plus a small "walkman" one, which I can pop in my pocket and never miss the Archers wherever I am !

This one ever has a CD players included ! ! !

Now the question is....do I need a 7th radio ?
oh go on..you know you want to !! .. forgot my portable headphone radio ..LOL...I have radio on through night low as I can't sleep in quiet room....too much white noise around..usually on LBC or radio 4 extra...
Can you get a.m on DAB? I only ever listen to one station and I can only get it on a few of my radios. I'm pretty sure my Pure doesn't have a.m.
Minty....try this for your night time listening :

Barsel....what station is that ?
1458 am Gold. Plays songs from the 60's 70's and 80's.
Barsel....apparently that station IS on DAB, and almost certainly will sound better and have better fidelity ::::

Thanks mikey, I'll have another look.
found the sound walk already....nice
Minty....yes, nice. I hope they do some more of them.
One can find certain stations broadcast in a number of ways, but you can not get Amplitude Modulation on Digital Audio Broadcasting, nor on Frequency Modulation. Nor the other way about. They are different coding/transmission methods of the sound data.
OG...almost all radio stations appear to be available on DAB, with the exception of the cricket. If its cricket, then you appear to have no choice other than Long Wave.
Never understood why people listen to cricket !
I have a friend who watches it on the telly, but listens to Test Match Special at the same time !

Not the same, of course, since Jonners left us !
