Ordinarily I'd say that you need a decent nickname to get a statue, but 3 election wins, fair enough he can have a statue!

Yes, in my opinion.
Deserving seldom has much to do with statues. Even if you knew who the statues on Trafalgar Sq were, could you say what any of them did without googling? Prime ministers probably "deserve" statues as much as anyone, but for leading the country, not for winning elections.

Yes...why not ?
His wife is still alive at the grand old age of 100.
I didn't know that, Jackdaw!
He kept us out of Vietnam despite great pressure from the Americans to become involved. Some later PMs would have been tripping over themselves in their haste to cement the special relationship with British blood.
Do some sections of the security services still think he was a Soviet agent? They might blackball any proposal.
Very true, sandyRoe, a PM who thought avoiding wars was good
Jack....I never knew that either.......What a remarkable old lady !

How many statues can one fit into a House of Commons ? Sure he got a number of ticks in the achievement box, but I'd suggest it's probably better to remove the statues already there. (Portrait oil paintings probably take up less room.)
I have no problem with it. He was certainly popular for many.
