No doubt the apologists will be along shortly to support the killers' rights, but this man has been murdered simply because he did not cow-tow to Islam.

Religion of peace ? Really ?

I doubt very much if anyone will be along to support butchers. I wonder if it's possible to blog anonymously?
Apologists? Who are they then?

You keep coming out with that nonsense but I've yet to see anyone acting as an apologist!!

No one ever explicitly supports terrorists or murderers, but what you get is weasly comments along the lines of..
'Murder is wrong, but if you insult the prophet, this is what happens'.
I haven't even seen that on this site.
I have.
I have no time for intolerance of any kind - a murder is a murder and to try to cloak it with an excuse cuts no ice with me.
^ I wasn't talking about this site ummmm - just generally. The last time I heard it was just after the Charlie Hebdo murders.
..and yes, as Naomi says, I have seen it said on here.
This isn’t the cost of religious intolerance – it’s the cost of freedom at the hands of religious intolerants.
Quite right Mamyalynne. We will not tolerate intolerance !
Question Author
Yes ummm, also those that would rather change the argument rather than tackle or comment on the real problem perhaps?

I just think all this is getting ridiculous, when is the World going to put its foot down and sort them out?
ludwig, I've seen (on this site) the same argument applied to Guantanamo Bay: "Torture is wrong, but if you mess with Uncle Sam, this is what happens."

It's beyond barbaric. I cannot comprehend how anyone could possibly excuse such monstrous actions.
Still waiting for the 'apologists' to appear ....

youngmafbog does this all the time.

In all my years on AB, I can't remember anyone ever speaking up for terrorism.

I suggest you ignore the 'apologist' nonsense. It's really an empty can, rattling about across the moors (I've been taking a creative writing course...I am, obviously, not that good).
When is the world going to put its foot down and sort them out???

Are you serious?

Iraq?

Afghanistan?

How did us putting our foot down turn out there?
Question Author
Why does 'putting your foot down' have to equate to 'war' ?

And besides, Iraq was not against Islamic State.
sp, //In all my years on AB, I can't remember anyone ever speaking up for terrorism.//

You’ve got the wrong end of the stick. No one has suggested that anyone has spoken up for terrorism, but jno’s post above illustrates the apologists’ stance perfectly. No condemnation – just excuses.

(Incidentally, we do have one ABer who claims that in time to come the Taliban will be regarded as heroes. Make of that what you will).
I heard that the term PEACE is somewhat misinterpreted and the meaning of peace me and you think is not what it means in islam. Apparently it means like balance (i.e. when the whole world is living in Islam)

Yep, 'Christians used to do this/that/the other'. If I had a pound for every time some genius posted that, I'd be able to go to the pub this afternoon.
