Thanks Mamyalynne. Its all so cloak and dagger with DWP. Obviously i realise that i will be out of pocket but i do not want my caree to lose out, also she is on housing benefit. How will that change if and when i move in as carer ??

Most areas have a Carers Centre, which is normally a local charity, that can give advice and support to carers. They can give advice on benefits as well as signpost you to other organizations.
It will be probably be called Yourtown Carers Centre (Liverpool Carers Centre for example). Phone them up and register yourself as they probably send out regular newsletters and may also run events for carers or the cared for. My local carers centre run days out for carers and cared for which usually includes a mini bus with wheelchair access. They also run advice days for carers about benefits and other support available. They also run "respite" days for carers where you can have a massage or other similar "treat". |

Your local council may have a welfare rights officer who will be able to guide you in the benefits system or even Citizens advice who are normally very helpful.

If she receives a disability premium with her ESA she will loose that premium. She can't receive it if someone is receiving Carers Allowance for her.

Ring the Benefit Enquiry Line 0800 882 200, they give advice on benefits etc for disabled people and carers. I have always found them very helpful.
