you could try the Post Office.
they normally get bulk deliveries to their coin store from the Royal mint -
where P O bag it on a bullion counter - (I used to do it till 7 years ago)
Then they pass it to the P O counters when they order it.

Have just sent an email to the royal mint, cheers boxtops.
Couldn't find any info on the website about release dates, only for special edition coins. |
|
If none are needed they they may not release any at all
There's probably a fair case for withdrawing 1 and 2p coins altogether. If inflation resumes it will happen eventually |
|
Maybe there isn't aneed for any new 1p coins. They probably cost more than a penny to produce anyway

do you mean like how some people have a bag of sugared almonds or something, you are giving people pennies?
dont mean to be rude but why would they want them? am i missing something? |

in answer, they dont release new coins every single year... there is no need to ...so there may not be any due out

..............I work in a Post Office and whilst we do get brand new pennies and 2 p coins in sometimes, I usually find that they have last years number on them!

@ JOKO - no mate, although we are in a double dip recession I am a bit more generous than giving my guests a penny as a wedding favor - they are to go with a themed scratch card and for novelty purpose I thought a lucky new penny the year of I got married would be a nice idea.

ah i get you...yeh nice idea...good luck
