My husband is supporting our local scout group as Treasurer but would like some advice on a helpful basic book keeping or accounts software package to help him do this. Any suggestions ? He has no previous experience of formal accounting procedures.

Thanks.

Thanks. We have Windows 98 (behind the times I know) and although we have Works installed, there doesn't seem to be anything related to treasury accounts. Is that just the Windows XP Works version ?
Using software may be a little OTT, he should be able to get by with an accounts exercise book you can buy from W H Smiths and a little tuition from the previous treasurer.

I agree with spudqueen.

Following a previous format is his best bet.

Have a look on line I am sure there will be somewhere which can offer a simple layout and bank reconciliation format.
