Hi all!
How is everyone getting on?

Here is last month's thread: http://www.theanswerbank.co.uk/Body-and-Soul/Weight-Loss-and-Dieting/Question1495716.html

Last month we were talking about when and how much we can treat ourselves. Did you see the report in the news about office cakes being a danger to our health? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-36608269

I'm getting quite well-practiced at saying no to cakes and donuts in the office! Maybe birthdays in the office should be celebrated with something a bit less naughty? How do you make sure you don't give in to temptation?

OG I've always wondered if the way you eat food has anything to do with putting on or loosing weight. I'm having a hard time explaining what I mean but let's say that you have three types of food x y and z. If you eat x and y together it's fine but if you eat X and z together they create xy2 which puts on weight. Do you get my meaning or do I belong on another planet?
I've come across food combining before now but don't feel I could buy into it. It tends to be about splitting food types and eating them at separate meals. I'm more inclined to think that even if a combination of food types means some aren't processed properly, then they are more likely to pass through, not get more energy extracted and turned into fat.

For sure I have issues with some things. The 2 day out-of-normal-control weekends I had a year ago are now 3 days weekends. I could put my foot down but it would be awkward when I'm more or less a guest elsewhere.

Or I could avoid the carbs more but I find anything else fails to satisfy. For example I bought bananas to snack on mid afternoon this week, instead of looking at buying biscuits or baked crisps, and after eating one I'm thinking, "That was ok, but I still feel peckish, what else is there ?"

Maybe I should try to drink more water, not that I think it'd help but these last couple of weeks have shown a turn around in the loss so it's a bit stressful at present and I should try anything.

I thought that in the hot weather I would want less anyway but it seems not.
I would never try out that combining foods. Food is meant to be enjoyed. I was just wondering if it could be an answer to this crazy putting on and taking off weight. Ho hum off to the freezer for a light ice lolly....the radishes weren't filling.
I forgot to go to the freezer and the radishes were filling.
Good morning all,

I stayed the same this week. I had a visit from my daughter so there were a few extra goodies on the menu.
Better than I did.

Due to an apparent massive drop over the last 24 hours, I've reduced the weekly gain to 0.6 lbs. (It had inexplicably shot up last Saturday morning, and jumped up again Monday (possibly due to the Jazz Festival trip the previous day).)
A gain of half a pound this week probably due to all the icecream I had due to the hot days we had but slowed up on them now .
Whoops.
Yes ice cream is a bit of a wash-out today.
Ever since the days when I had type 2 diabetes (gone now) I've eaten sugar free ice cream. I'm sure the purists will be wagging their fingers but I enjoy it and no it doesn't have a lot of additives....just stevia, and I enjoy it without any backlash.
I could buy the sugar free ones but I always have to have icecreams in freezer for my kids and grandkids and the devil would drag my fingers to the chocci ones . But I am going to look to see what they have next time I go supermarket and try them .
Don't let them know. My daughter has always said she can taste sugar free and lo salt yet she didn't say a word about the taste while she was here and believe me she would had I told her!
Good morning all,

still the same...yuk!
Think I better go on the naughty step for forgetting to weigh .
Getting so sick of this.
Up 1.2 lbs !!!!!!!!!!!!
Week after week of late.
Oh dear we're a sorry little group. On the way home from training I checked out the new cream cake coffee shop/bakery. The last time I did a baker's thing I lost weight. I had a brownie and a cappuccino then came home and thumbed my nose stud the scales! ':-))
Good morning all,

Where oh where is everybody?
I'm down a bit. On my daily walk I often meet a neighbour and we walk together. She's faster than I am but I can keep up and I think that helps burn off the baddies......well, maybe.
Good Morning xstitcher and followers. I have stayed the same from 2 weeks ago .Not complaining but must get back on track .
Well we all seem to have done ok this week then.

Due to an unexpected 1.2 lb drop over the last 24 hours (?!?!?!?!?!?) I have gone down 1.8 lbs over the week. I guess the weekend was only a horrendous amount of intake instead of the totally horrendous amount. That must help.
Hello Ed where ever you are...may we have an Aug. please?

I wonder if I should remove my photo. I seem to have scared everybody away.
Oh ! I thought that was one of a young Marilyn Monroe !
