Notafish Hope you will be ok for your weigh next week without the food poisoning. It is not very nice .
I wish you well too, Islasmum. I'm so glad I'm over my food poisoning, I missed some lovely party food on Saturday cos I couldn't dare risk eating anything, oh well.
Up 1⅛ lbs, but I know why; it was expected. The usual heavy weekend was followed by 2 days away on a course when monitoring / limiting was difficult and too much hassle, followed by 2 evenings when I just happened to find myself at Indian restaurants, means that the raise represents less 'damage' than there might have been. I need to get back into the swing of this dieting lark now.
It sounds like you were let of lucky OG. I'm changing my breakfast, not that it is anything I shouldn't be eating, but just to see what the change will bring. I'm getting like a dog and eating the same thing every day for breakfast.
Yeah, those Bonios do get stuck between the teeth don't they.
xstitcher, you'll know it's really time for a change when you start eating your brekkie from a bowl on the floor. But think how fit you'll become when people start throwing sticks for you to retrieve.

Another 1 and a half lb gone last night. I must admit, I really do like Slimming World. The trouble is, I won't be able to go to that class again as my working hours are changing and I won't get home in time.

Do people generally prefer going to groups or working on their own? I'd be interested to know.
Can anyone recommend a good exercise dvd I can buy. I used to have several videos but since we have got rid of the video player, we have thrown away the videos.
I cant remember who 's video's I had. I think one was Anthea Turner! Nothing too strenuous, mind. Need to ease myself in gently.
Just having a break from my stick fetching lol.....I like working on my own and that pretty well goes for everything. HAVING to go somewhere just isn't me.

Tilly I found Rosemary Connley's keep fit very good. She had always two ways to do them, for the young and fit and for those not so fit because of different reasons.
Well done Kiki. Had to laugh at the stick fetching. Reminded when I was learning a dog years ago to fetch. I had to keep fetching it myself. No point it trying it with my kids dogs as they fetch everything.

Better luck next week OG . I have had 3 meals out and lost 1lb which I didnt deserve too so got to make sure it doesn't catch up with me for next week.

Sorry Tilly can't help you never did do any videos.
No time to post until now, but I did weigh yesterday and had lost 1 1/2lbs. yippee.

I stayed off the bread and the cheese and stopped counting calories! I find if I count, I'm thinking about food all the time. In the evenings I'm either using up my allocation on things I don't really need or feeling miserable because i have no calories left. Generally I find that if I don't count I eat better at every meal time and snack far less. I just do it now and then to get back on course if I stray.

To answer other's questions - I'm too self conscious to go to a group. I'd never make it through the door which is why I value this thread. And fitness DVD - sorry never tried them either. No help whatsoever am I!

Good weekend and onwards and downwards everyone.
Not being able to get through the door is why I'm on here! I've had a couple of bad weeks healthwise so I've not been as strict as I was previously. But I have finally dusted off the bag of clothes that has been lurking on the top of the wardrobe for ages - a whole size smaller! I've definitely noticed how rough I feel if I eat too much rubbish, so I am determined to get back on track. Onwards and (for me, a very long way to go) downwards
Well done to Roobidoo and Maidup. You are both on the right track and the naughty step is getting dusty apart from a certain male occupant at the moment.
I think you are tackling your food the right way maidup and I agree with you about counting this or that keeps you constantly reminded of food....best only to do so when buying it. Well going down size is a real achievement roobidoo. Try and focus on what you have achieved and how good it makes you feel instead of what lies ahead and see if that helps.
Maidup and Roobidoo you both have the right attitude and can't add anymore that what Xstitcher has said. I too found that if you count and think all day about calories you do keep thinking of food and if you have not eaten much all day you think it is ok to have a pigout as I call it in the evening but it don't work that way. And also don't you find that the adverts about food on TV seem to jump out at you?
Really slow progress and now a small gain this week. Only time I made slimmer of the week was after food poisoning, but keep on keeping on. This time last year I was 20lbs heavier, so something's going right
You do tend to loose more in the beginning sheenamf so don't loose heart. You can change that small gain into a loss next week and in the meantime you can join Old Geezer on the naughty step. lol
I might add that these small gains can be very dangerous because they can very easily develop a slipping backwards trend that can be disasterous...take it from one who has been there and is fighting tooth and nail now to get back on track. Get your focus back on what you want to achieve and good luck.
Hello everybody,

Haven't frequented the Onwards & Downwards threads for a while because I've given up on my healthy eating plan. I've done loads of naughty things like eating bags of chocolate coated popcorn (Cadbury's) which I recently discovered and couldn't get enough of! Actually, I've overdone them so much that I am sick of them now. Good thing I guess.

Anyway, as I've put on several lbs over the last few months I'm going to make an effort to try and lose this over the next couple of weeks as my work uniform is getting rather tight :o(
Tut tut. Welcome back. I also have to make up for slippage, although the last couple of days have seen me heading in the right direction again.
Thats good O_G, I'm starting today so hopefully I'll be going in the right direction too. I've eaten all the bad stuff so there's nothing bad in my fridge and cupboards now. The only problem is I'm making a Thai curry today with coconut milk and I couldn't get the low fat version. I'll just have to have less of it. I'll have to give my guests some of my portion :o(
Welcome back Tigger. You have done the right thing in coming back as this is the best way to start again. It shows you know you have done wrong and going to rectify it. If I stopped coming on this thread I know I would gain but I have been going up and down like a yo yo but doing my best to get there.
My problem is I'm a yo-yo dieter. I go off the rails and then when my clothes start to feel tight I start dieting again. Its a vicious circle.
