Onwards and Downwards Continues in April

Sorry we are a bit late this month busy, busy, busy!

I have noticed quite a few new members over the last couple of months so welcome to you all and we are glad to have you here to help and be helped:

JimJools, maggibee, notafish, daffy654, lillymoon, jules001, spotit3 and maidup

if I have missed anyone I apologise.

As the days are getting longer and warmer does anyone find it a bit easier to be good and eat more fruit and veg and not pile up on the stodgy food that is so tempting in the winter months?

Here is last months thread

Its funny how you know the result before you step on those scales. No chance for me this week and I knew there wouldn't be.

Not that I've had a bad week, I just didn't feel any lighter. Its a shame because I have relatives to stay at the weekend so I'd tried really hard this week in case I gain a little bit next while they're here. Never mind I'll do my best to avoid too many cream teas and pub meals. Onwards and downwards.
^^^ No chance should read no change! typo.....

Good luck to you all today.
Welcome back Spotit3. You have got over the first hurdle by coming back. We all have these blips but we also try to rectify it.
Maidup you have to have your treat when friends are staying as long as you know you will get back on course.
I thought I would be on the naughty step today as I have not been 100% but iI have not over indulged just not stuck to proper meals. So stayed the same.
I'm looking at the Dukan diet, folks - my SIL and brother have lost 3.5 stone between them on it, and are now on maintenance. Any good or bad experiences you can share with me before I think further about it?
Well Done W, staying the same is a great result when you've been expecting the naughty step. Have a good week.
Boxtops I am just giving you my opinion of these diets. They don't work for everyone. First thing I saw when I went to their site was lose 2 stone in 2 weeks. That is not good for a start as you know yourself that the quicker you get it off it will go back on faster. I am one of those people that have has to watch my weight all my life I just have to look at a cream cake and it sticks on me. More so since I stopped smoking 15 years ago I have to be more careful as it used to be a cuppa and a fag but it was a cuppa and a biscuit and lost count of the cupps. My opinion is to cut out the fats and watch the carbs eat plenty fish and chicken vegs meals. Not too many salads every day. I don't down any of these clubs like WW but you have to go no point in doing it over the internet. Being with other people helps especially if you have a lot to lose. I went myself years ago but now find it easier to follow a healthy diet which I do stray from at times but I get back on track. I need to lose another stone .
Good Morning All, I did post an answer but it got lost I see....I have gone down 2½ pounds so as you can guess my smile is in place.

Onwards and downwards everybody!!
Did any of you see the BBC programmes a few years ago where they took some well known weight loss "diets" and had people try them out?

The fad diets where you loose a lot quickly didn't do well and the sensible healthy eating and excerise ones did the best. That should say it all.
To my surprise this week's result seems to be down ¼lb.
Hope all manage at least as well.
Is the subscription expensive, Old-Geezer, and if so can I pay it in instalments please? Congratulations to all who have lost weight this week.
^^^ LOL

Nor does the steering wheel on my car!
Well done xstitcher and OG. 2lb off for me this week taking me to a grand total of 5 stone so far, so why is my back killing me today? Had really bad news on Monday about the ankle too and need a CT scan to check but it looks like it has not healed from the op again and may require another one. Was so down I was tempted to stray so did have a few drinks but stopped before I went too far! Going to be a difficult week though as very fed up that although I am losing the weight it is still not helping the pain in the ankle.
As expected, I stayed the same. Well done to all those who lost. I went swimming today, and hope to start going regularly on Wednesdays. I wonder if that'll make a difference to my weight.
Swimming will help a bit but it is really wonderful for your body and keeps all your muscles supple.
I don't know why I have suddenly got another avatar...I haven't changed it.....help....
I'm hoping I will keep it up, as I really don't fancy going. I don't like getting wet and cold, but feel a bit more determined this time. Xstitcher your avatar looks ok. What one did you get? I got a really spooky one once, I don't know whose it was.
Looks the same to me Xstitcher.
Well done Xstitcher and Jan .
That is really strange. The one I can see is a woman who is praying.....
