Daughter beaten up by her boyfriend

My daughter came round this morning covered in bruises, cuts and scratches. When I asked her where they were from she said her new boyfriend did it because he found out she had posted on a male friend's FB page. I went silent with rage when she said this... she knows if I go silent that I am very angry.
She claims she has contacted the police who want photos of her injuries. I'm not sure whether she has contacted them or was saying it to keep me quiet. She also said she is going round to see this boyfriend later on after she has bought a new mobile for herself because he smashed hers up.

Will the police press charges (if she has actually called them) against him even if she doesn't want them to?

Idiots like that give us blokes a bad name!

I hope he is very soon to be an ex-boyfriend (and I think he deserves a visit from some larger male friends if you have any!)
YES, if she has reported it, but I doubt she has. Ask her for the case number and when she is going to have the photos done as with my daughter they did it at the hospital when they attended, also, if the police are involved they will have advised her not to contact the boyfriend and he will already have been interviewed you would think,
well yes they could charge him, but of course without the witness (your daughter) giving a statement then it could prove difficult

I hope that she can remove herself from the situation as soon as possible. Did she give a reason as to why she is going to see him?
They will charge him and it will go to court and if she turns up as a witness he will plead guilty and get a fine but only if she turns up to testify, if she doesn't turn up he will get off no doubt, but all of that only happens if the police charge him and they can't charge him if they don't know about it. Did she go to hospital?
i think if they can prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he done it then yeah....what a f00kin @rse hole!! i hope shes ok and you are too...x

If I still had the same friends from my younger day I could have had him 'sorted out' Chuck but I left all that behind 20 odd years ago.

I doubt she has reported it too dot!

Redcrx... she says she wants to ask him for the money for the broken phone but I think she is trying to patch things up with him :(

The bruises she showed me (after I spotted them under her sleeves) are horrendous, she looks like she went a couple of rounds with Mike Tyson.
She'll end up hurt again if she goes back to him, he could end up killing her, does she not read the papers?
daffy, is there anyone who can go with her if she is insistant on going?
its hard to leave when u love someone...i cannot say my ex was as violent as that but very agressive...and recently as part of my course we had a day with a lady who works for a domestic violence service locally and it really touched me...your poor daughter, why not try and post this in the law section too see if any lawyers or police kicking around in there daffy....she probs is going round to try get an explanation...and like u say patch things up...never knowing why it happened is hard...and thats when u begin to blame yourself unfortunately.... :0(

She's a very independent girl and won't accept help from me or my oh. If oh went with her i'm not sure he could stop himself from attacking the scumbag anyway.

I'm also worried sick about my grandbabies as they probably witnessed all of this.

I will try and speak to my daughter later on but at the moment I can't contact her due to her phone being smashed up.
i was very independent...my mum n dad still dont know the half of it or ever will...i kinda felt like i was failing something when i had to pack up n move home again. hope your daughter finds the strength she needs......and you....mabye you could report it anyhow daffy...so theres something on file should it ever escalate!? x
If that was my kid, I know what I'd do. I'm not sure if daffy654 is male or female, but if you're a bloke then I can't understand you posting this question on here in the first place. What is it you want to hear? The police won't do anything, we all know that it'll be a complete waste of time. Go sort the scumbag out yourself. Just don't get caught.

I'm female and wheelchair bound so not capable of 'sorting him out'.
thing is...does daffy then go through further heartache with the police at her door? people like this "boyfriend" are manipulative and probobly act purer than pure if police got involved...the more the police know probs the better because you may have to build a case againt him if he does it again?

i do however understand your point as my dad always says he would do time if someone done it to me...i tend to fly off the handle myself...but deep down violence isnt the answer...think daffy just needs sum support and a place to vent some anger as it dosent seem like her daughter is letting her in xx
That's too bad because fellas like that usually understand one thing. Unfortunately I'm not a big burly bloke or else I'd come sort him out for you. I really hope she gets rid of him sooner rather than later.
-- answer removed --
dont want her daughter to start falling out with her mum n dad though...she may stil take her bf's side x
sorry to hear this daffy, trouble is its only her who can decide but i would encourage her to let your oh go round with her
I say let Vibrasphere have a go at him. He looks like he can handle himself. ;-)
Why don't you go around and 'mark his card' for him? I'd tell him if he came anywhere near her again, he'd be very VERY sorry.
Your daughter may not have reported it, BUT she is obvioulsy frightened, could you go with her to the police station? I think that's what she might want, else why turn up at your place letting you see the state she's in? If she didn't want you to know she could have said she was mugged or something, or just not seen you for a while until her injuries are healed
