I drive over my nieghbours land to my property from the road. I have full rights over this. What is the situation if say a child is knocked down, and god forbid, it was killed?
Who is liable? What cover is require if any?

It's nothing to do with who owns the land (anywhere) at all.
It's the person who does the running dowmwhther that be you,your neighbour,or the postman/milkman/electric man.
It would be that person who would have to look to their insurance cover,not the landowner.

The same as if a child was run down on a public road. "private" has no significance here.

Indeed, if you ran over a child on the road, you wouldn't expect the Highways Agency to take the blame?
