Ok, i'm kind of seeing this guy (when i say kind of i mean it's not confirmed but it just happened) He split up with his last girlfriend about a month ago. I quite liked him when they were going out and now they're not what would you say the recommended time would be for me to go out with him (if we do) I don't want to upset his ex by going out with him too soon, however i also dont want to be having a 'nothing' relationship. One mate said two months is about right, do you agree?

If you are friends with the girl perhaps you should talk to her? ask her if its cool with her? and if it is you can go for it now? if not, well you'll just have to decide which is more important to you- her or him!
How long were they together and was it very serious?

I once read that it usually takes half the time you were together in a serious relationship to get over it. Obviously circumstances differ but if they were together for several years then I would suggest it's not a bad rule to go by.

Plus you have to consider whether you are part of a rebound.

No i don't actually know her at all, although it seems that he has completely moved on and she hasn't. This is why it's quite a big deal; don't want to hurt her, but what if she doesn't get over him for aages??
Leave it I suppose...
how much do you like him?

What makes you think he is completely over her and not just telling you what you want to hear? Like I said, I think you need to look at questions I asked previously and apply them to this guy.

If you think that it is not applicable to you then I fail to see why you should be concerned about the ex. Her gireving time for the lost relationship is nothing to do with you.

That's what i thought.

Thankyou 3ight8ball, point taken..!

He's a pretty good, trustworthy guy so when he says he's over it, i do believe him, and im not trying to jump in there at all, thats why im asking you lot.
