Taking my kids to school there's a group of parents who always meet up have a natter about the latest gossip when they aren't email or texting each other about anything and everything that happens in our town which is pretty much 24 hours a day everyday and recently they've had a new topic which seems to be looking at new neighbors without kids and spreading rumours, lies, gossip and suspicion about them.
I find the rumours sick and try and make excuses at the school gates that i'm in a rush so that i don't get caught up in this vicious web especially seeing that the husbands have caught wind with this latest rumour and are planning to giving the couple a "Visit" one night,The last time a couple were singled out by the husbands, their houses were sprayed with grafitti, car tires slashed and they were ignored and eventually moved out in fear. what should I do, no crime has been committed yet and no direct threats have been mentioned yet.

Thanks for your replies.
Golly jeepers. Where do they find the time between wicker man assembly and ritual fertility folk dance rehearsals?
Fredrina- I didn't say you had to move house, just your daughter's school. I dunno about anyone else, but there's no way in Hell i'd allow my child to be in a school, or any environment, where the offspring off these people frequent.

If the only alternative is home schooling, id look into that too!
Mick....You're out of order!!! Why can't you leave Helen alone?
This is a 'wind up' isn't it.
Do I look at people who don't have any children with suspcion?

No.

Envy on very very rare occasions ... but not suspicion!
I'm just wondering if this is an American user? Based on their spelling of "neighbours"??

O_G...I agree, but i got a b0llocking for suggesting it, BUT if this is so, then society has degenerated in the past 60 years.
Sniping?

At the risk of the thread being derailed (apologies Fredrina), is there a history between you and Mickrog Helen? I don't really see owt to get upset over by what he said, admittedly im not sure what he meant, but reportable?
american.... nah more like fantasian
> You think someone would make something as serious as this up?

You may be perfectly genuine. Thing is, though, you're a new user and your user name begins with 'Fred'...
I wouldn't say that sqad.

What the OP has described seems extreme, and judging by the majority of replies, not something that any of us has encountered. I'd understand your comment if we'd all replied along the lines of that yeah we knew what the OP meant- but we didn't. Surely that's a good thing?

What is it with this sites users? So far I've heard jackanory, I don't believe you and is it a windup? How does anyone get any sensible answers if they're accused of lying or winding them up? By the response I've got you would've thought that I came here with a question about growing a second head or something, I never got this response on yahoo answers that's for sure.
No boo I'm from the north in uk, I wish I could tell you exactly but I can't on advice from the police.

Markrae, so it's common for new users with a name you don't like to get the third degree or accused of lying?
Even if it was a wind up (which I don't think it is) does it really matter? The OP hasn't been offensive and it's more interesting than some of the others Q's here.
