My father in law has prostate cancer for which he has had hormone and radiation treatments, his first 'count' after treatment was 0.5, which 3 months later rose to 5.0. Another 3 months on and the 'count' is now 1.5. The consultant said the rise was due to a 'Blip' but could not explain why it had happened. Has anyone else had one of these 'blips' and if so what explaination was given or can anyone explain what the 'blip' may be?

one out of the ordinary result might well be a blip...that is why many prostate cancer patients are on long term active monitoring idf the result I am assuming PSA continues to rise they may consider other interventions as it would then no longer be aa blip but part of an upward trend
