Might go today.
You get more than a free cup of tea. You get a pint of squash...then you get to have as many cups of tea as you want...biscuits, chocolate, crisps...as much as you want. Pity I had to get back to the car...
Yeah do Flob...it's painless.
I usually give blood in the afternoon after plenty of food and drink. I have passed out when doing it in the morning.

Advantage. It is good for your karma and your soul and makes you feel good. I had to stop when I got to menopause as it brought on horrendous dizzy spells.
You to be really smug for the next 24 hours.

Do it!
Advantages..........as already mentioned.

Disadvantages...........adverse reactions, sweating and fainting.
bruising and pain at site of injection of needle.

The disadvantages occur in less than 1%.
they won;t let me, my blood isn;t good enough *sniff*
How is it not good enough?
nor me ... had a transfusion during the cjd panic period
Yes, like everything in life there are pros and cons to it. If you are male you get a third less risk of heart attack due to iron loss in donation, but not if you are female, I am sorry to say as they have a menstrual cycle. You also get a free tea and biscuit, as well as the medals they give. The only disadvantage is that it can take a long time, over an hour in some busy sessions, and you are not allowed to have drugs like aspirin five days ahead. If you love doing that much you can also give blood platelets like I do, but ask the NBS staff there. For more details see below:
