if I'm like this now, I stand no chance when the babys here!

I can't get a decent night sleep, couple of hours if I'm lucky. I'm uncomfortable but can't pinpoint anything else - I just can't seem to relax enough to enjoy a decent kip.

any tips??

"I stand no chance when the babys here! " LOL

getting comfy is so difficult when pregnant. i bought a maternity pillow though which helped a lot http://www.mothercare...ncoding=UTF8&mcb=core

i tried the whole pillow thing last night but made me worse, had cramp after cramp!!
Are you working, do you need night sleep? If not, I would nap through the day, don't worry about sleeping when everyone else is!

yep am working full time. few weeks ago, when I had no problem sleeping, I'd be napping the minute I got home but now, just can't
Ah, that blows that idea out of the window, then! Not sure what to suggest.... how long have you got to go now?

I'm 28 weeks so still got a while yet
It's natures way of getting you used to having less sleep!! I can remember being the same at times - but I am pretty sure it used to come an go - maybe practice some relaxation techniques before and in bed.
Wait till near the end when you're getting up to pee 6 times a night too. Oh and you also can't settle when watching TV, or trying to relax. You end up pacing the livingroom, I think i wore a groove round my sofa going round and round it.

Fun times!

(Paint a great picture dont i? ;-) )

can't wait b00(!!)

I think I need to 'google' relaxation techniques, I'll try anything!
warm baths, warm drinks and 'peace' help..............and i am a dad - just the experience of two.
If you fight it it seems worse somehow - the more you try to sleep the harder it seems to actually get to sleep. I've seen advice somewhere that says you should get up, read for a bit, etc until you are properly tired again. (PS - when the baby gets here you will wish you could get as much sleep as you are currently getting, but it doesn't last forever.) x

hi sherrard, how are you? i'm hoping (pathetically) things will be better when baby gets here cos OH will be doing his fair share, allowing me to sleep!!

that thought and sheer naivety should make me laugh myself to sleep..
Hi Jb - I'm good thanks. This sleep thing will pass, it is so hard to get comfy when you are the size of a house! When the baby first comes it does feel like your eyes will actually melt because you are so tired. It can't be that bad, how many only children do you know? (PS - the OH will sleep through and you will hear every single breath that your baby takes, you will even sleep with your hand on the baby's chest, the light on low, so that you can constantly check that he/she is ok - it'll be brill!).
