ok so a ran bare footed and tipped on some tiles steps. My toe at first was of course really hurting glad i haven't got a swear box but this was earlier today when i tripped and it is still hurting, should I start to worry about it being more damaged than i think. I can move the big toe in question as much as the other one but they dont curl alot anyway. It doesnt look swollen and funny looking is just hurts a bit the walk not too bad, but it hurts like quite alot just sat down its a bit like when you hit your elbow its more a tingly, not let anyone touch it kind of pain than a deep ache ??

Any advice, should I raise it, warm it slightly, if it still hurts in a week might phone doc and ask maybe unless it gets worse of course and then I might seek help sooner? never had an injury like this before toe in question always used to dislocate as a kid never sought help for it but when it dislocated it felt funny and I had to wiggle to get it to click back.

probably just bruised, which may take several days to go down, like any bruise; but if it gets worse over the next day or two, yes, see a doctor.
When you're resting, keep it elevated (eg. up on a pouffe that is higher than where you're seated). If you can move it/walk on it without too much pain it's unlikely your broken it IMO. Just make sure, as it heals, that you keep it *gently* mobile.
