I recently changed my facewash (which exfoliates aswell) because tescos had run out of the one I normally use. But now the skin under my eyes is dry and almsot flakey plus in two places on my hairline, it's similar but a lot worse and i'm not sure if it's dandruff or my facewash.

Could it be because I don't scrub it off in those place and it keeps on exfoliating through the day/ night, untill I have a bath or shower and it completely comes off?

I'd have thought it more likely that it's too strong/drying for your skin and would suggest you go back to the one you're used to and not use this one up.
im not sure why thats happening molly, i dont think it would keep exfoliating though until you wash it off.
do you use a moisturiser after youve washed your face? that will help the dry patches.

Prudie, but i think under my eyes and by my hair is where I scrub it off least incase I rub it into my eyes or hair.

looby since it happened I have and it's getting better.
Question Author
Prudie, the rest of my face is fine, where I can wash it off properly.
Oh by under your eyes do you mean right up under the lashes? You shouldn't put it that close to your eyes anyway. Just use it in the places you can rinse off easily and as looby says moisturise.

No not a mm or so away, it's dry around the bit where my cheek starts to go into my eye socket, if that makes sense.
the skin around your eyes is delicate molly, so go careful round that area.

and yeah, keep your face nice and moisturised, itll help keep wrinkles at bay!

id say best use your old wash as soon as you can get hold of it again, maybe the new one is a little too harsh like prudie said.
In that case I'd go back to what I said at first - it's much too strong for you or your skin is too sensitive. Don't use it anymore, an exfoliator is supposed to gently lift dead skin cells not rough up living ones!
At your age,and with your skin type-using the exfoliator daily may be too much.Do you have any aqueous cream in the house? You can use that as a cleanser in between washes, and it will moisturise well.

Thanks, we've got ym old stuff but i'm going to moisturise until my skin's back to normal.
