My friend has just been told her thyroid cancer has returned, she had half of it taken away some months ago and has to go in next week to have the rest removed and then radiotherapy. I know nothing of thyroid cancer, only breast cancer ( which I had - ok now) is it curable if caught early?

Not enough information.Survival rates depend upon¨

1) Age of the patient
2) Type of tumour ( How aggressive it is)
3) Has it spread to the lymph nodes.

let us know and survival rates can be determined.
Been thinking....from what you have said and the treatment your friend has had, then we are looking at 5year survival rates of 85%...........pretty good for cancer.
maybe this might be of help?
