Hi all,
Just want to ask your opinions. For the past few weeks I have just felt tired all the time and just have no "get up and go"and I've noticed if I bump, and I mean just gently knock myself I end up with horrible dark bruises which seem to last forever!
I have been anaemic on and off for a few years but haven't had a check up for a while.
I've also just left a very stressful job but feel more settled in my work now however my hubby found out he is going to be made redundant at the end of Sept.
Any ideas???Not sure if it could just be down to a stressful period in my life and being a bit run down(Although I don't really feel run down) or should I maybe pop and see my doc for a check?
TIA

Time for a blood test, chilliwitch.
Indeed - the bruising could be a sign that you need a bit of medical input. Anaemia can make you very tired.
Quote from the NHS website:
"If you suddenly get lots of bruises, or start to bruise for no apparent reason, tell your GP. Unusual bruising is sometimes a symptom of illness, such as a problem with your liver or blood-clotting mechanisms."

I agree....you need a blood test as the first step.
I have had further thoughts on your situation.
You say that you have had bouts of anaemia in the past....what type and what treatment?
Also I would guess that you are in you 50´s, stressed, tired and "fed up".
You certainly need you blood status assessing but it would be also a good idea if you could ask your Dr. for thyroid tests.

LOL sqad,I'm 36!!!I had anaemia on and off when I was pregnant and then last year I went to give blood and they didn't want mine as they said I was anaemic, went to docs and I was just given iron tablets which I couldn't take as they made me feel really sick.Think I'll make a appointment just to check it out.
Thank you all for your advice.
