I do an excersise which people think is so easy, but is actually simple but exhausting. From a relaxed standing position, simply squat down as low as you can go. So the back of your thighs and bum meet the back of your lower leg. Then stand up. Do not put your hands on your knees or anywhere else. Do this as many times as you can. You might think that you could do this loads of times as it sounds so easy. I try to do 40-50 but am exhausted by then. If you can do 20-25 it is good. My nephew came around last week who is 10 years my junior. He laughed at me when I told him I did it as an excersise. He only got to 15, stopped, anounced it was boring but was out of breath already. My legs have firmed up really well.

I may be wrong but I was taught you shouldn't bend your knees when excersising like that, to less than 90 degrees as you can damage your knees!!

HI Cazz.
In my yoga class we do this exercise. Lie flat on your back with your legs stretched up in the air. They don't have to be straight if you can't, slightly bent is ok. Now spread them as far out to the sides as you can and slowly close them. Do this about 10 times. Then spread them again but only pull one leg up to the straight position. Then lower that to the side and do the other leg. Follow with the other leg. It might sound simple but it's a good workout and might not be as easy as you think. It works on the inside thigh and on the saddle bags too. Do as many as you can but remember never to overwork yourself.

Enjoy the slim legs....

Because you cant spot reduce fat . . .

Or perhaps you could enlighten me otherwise? Our fat deposits are mostly genetically determined. For lopez the answer would still be to lose fat all over. Toning is the result of increasing muscularity and reducing fat levels, one without the other will not achieve the desired results.

Just fighting the good fight against all the utter **** that comes out of cosmopolitan/mens health/fhm/womens weekly who repeat the most awful bollox about how to train effectively.

Individual leg strengthening exercises will only serve to increase the size of your inner thighs.  If you want them to 'tone', you need to do more aerobic activity (running/cycling/rowing) in order to burn off the fat, or just eat less/better.  Hope this helps.

Lots of aerobic exercise is correct.  Swimming, cycling and walking at a fast pace are all great for toning up.

Figure Skate.

I have been ice skating for the past 4 years and I have noticed a HUGE difference in my thighs.  It doesn't seem like that hard work at first, but after you get your feet on the ice and start doing jumps and spins.... well, lets just say you'll be sore and leav it at that ;)

Good Luck!
