Foot Care Routine - suggestions please!
32 Answers
Can anyone recommend anything for getting rid of hard skin on the heels? I have tried a foot file and and i've used a Hemp cream from the body shop, but both seem to provide really short term relief. I'd be interested to know what footcare routine other AB'ers use.....

Hi Kazzy. Every night, I apply a generous amount of moisturing cream to my feet, with a little extra on the harder parts, and leave them overnight (don't forget to wear socks). In the morning, I make sure to wash it off with just warm water, and before putting my outdoor shoes on, I spray on some revitalising foot and leg spray. I find that if I don't do this, I tend to get extra hardness on my heels which I can actually feel when I walk barefoot.YUCK! The cream I use is Avon footworks Moisture Cream, but I guess any rich one works. The spray is from Superdrug and is really good. It contains lemon, tea tree and horse
I have very hard-to-care-for feet, for some reason, and I also like to wear sandals, so they take a lot of wear and tear. Here's what I do. At the end of the shower (basically, every time I shower, unless I'm in a hurry), when the skin has had time to soften, I use a pumice stone and get all the dead skin off, especially around the calloused areas. After the shower I use a moisturizer (any will do, probably). At night, maybe once a week, I use a foot cream that I think is mostly coconut oil, made by Burt's Bees - I completely slather it on and pull on cotton socks, and sleep in them. By morning the cream has completely absorbed, and my feet feel really smooth.
