rov....good question and I gather that you are excluding anabolic steroids in your question.

2 phases in the allergic reaction.
Phase 1....release of histamine
Phase 2...cellular response by eosinophils.

Phase one is combated by anti-histamines NOT steroids.
Phase 2 is combated by cortico-steroids NOT anti histamines.

Nasal allergies tend to respond better to steroids than antihistamines because of the intense eosinophilic response rather than a histamine reaction.

rov.....this is off the top of my head so I should wait for the response of a chemical pathologist to reply.
^ you mean cut and pasted from google lol :)

Hi Stompe xxx
I had bells palsy...no treatment given...

My sister got the same 10 years later and was treated with steriods.

:-(
ummmmmmded

Bell's Palsy is not an allergic disease. BUT: even 10yrs ago, the treatment of Bell's Palsy was large doses of steroids. I hav no idea why the Dr. didn't prescribe them.

Have they let them out of the asylum again?
I spent Easter in an asylum once - non voluntary stay!

The people inside the hospital seemed to be much ,uch nicer and clearly saner than those on the outside in the big world.

Makes you wonder!
I also had Bells palsy and no treatment about 7 years ago.
