Helping out in a local charity shop? They're always looking for volunteers, and you can work for as few or as many hours as you want.

Thanks Mrs Y have thought of that but need something that will stimulate me a bit more, I ned to use my brain!!
why don't you want paid work?
Volunteering is a big spectrum, enquire online locally!!!
I worked in a charity shop after losing my dad shaking after my mums death 18 months later I worked p/t in our local library on a voluntary basis. I knew the manageress thats how I got in but maybe you could ask at your library. You will get through this. xx
Question Author
Thanks Chinadog, I will enquire at the library, sounds good to me as I love reading etc. Don't need paid work Sara3 as I am am sick of paying tax to keep the won't work brigade.
Oh shaking! I hadnt figured you for a 'brigade' caller till the end of this thread!

What do you mean Mallam?
learn a foreign language/musical instrument/travel?
Question Author
Hi tamborine,
Have done all those, suppose there is always somewhere in the world you haven't been but have experienced most.
Perhaps apply to one of those companies (I can't remember the name of the company I applied to) who provide answers to questions via text messaging.

It's not greatly paid, about 37 pence for every answer you provide, but it involves internet research and you have to have a good command of the English language, good grammar and punctation, which I'm sure you have Shaking.
Thank you for asking what I mean, shako! It raises one's hopes for the possibliity of communication between human beings!

I mean it never was very pretty to call people the 'x bigade' and by association is getting less so. I do hope you will see this when you give it some thought, and discontinue the practice.
Question Author
Thanks Velvetee, worth considering without a doubt.
Question Author
Still don't know what you are on about Mallam, are you one of those who I am keeping?
a lot of people have lost there jobs with the recession shaking, its unfair to describe them as the "wont work brigade" a lot of people I know who work in engineering are struggling to find work, any work with any pay. its just not available.
No, shako, and I see you are beyond civilizing.
Caz apparently doesnt see this, and is still having a crack at civilizing you!
how about here......listen to what you're missing

But people like caz and me NEVER give up hope. You did say you need to feel useful again, and I take that (perhaps wrongly) to mean that your heart is in the right place.

We are only trying to ensure that your tongue is too.
Question Author
Cazz there is a difference between the won't work brigade and those that want work. I don't mind at all in helping the unfortunate and can sympathise.
