Coldsores

I've got a coldsore :-( I don't get them that often thankfully but when I last had one someone recommended a supplement to take which prevents them. Could anyone tell me what this may be as I forgotten the name I was told?

The best treatment is to apply Acyclovir (Zovirax) anti-viral cream as soon as you get the warning signs of a cold sore appearing, and try to touch them as little as possble to prevent spreading (both to other areas and to other people)

I, too, suffer from an abundance of coldsores and used to carry the cream around with me but I have recently found that you can now get tablets. Having tried both I'd sooner have the tablets as the coldsore is gone in three days. It does mean a trip to the doc. though as they're prescription only.
