How do you define 'meaningless' or 'meaningful' though?

A friend of mine always says, "I'm here for a good time, not a long time" and i think he's dead right!

meaningless-live mindless, dont have the ability to give love to anyone, extremely selfish, and more....
meaningful- life for love and hope

your definition of meaningless might be someone's interpretation of living life to the full, carefree, stress free, living for the day, not worrying about tomorrow
its horses for courses, some people have a lot of "living for the day" to do before they want to start living with purpose

Sorry, I'm in a very argumentative mood today; but some one who has the attributes you describe as meaningless - selfish, single minded, concentrating on themselves - may be very successful in business or politics and may achieve great things - could that be said to be meaning less?
Or are you talking on a purely emotional scale?

erm, i dont know how to explain, or maybe as im in a mood of thinking, confusion as well.
just for example, a drug user, he gonna live the rest life on drugs, for couple more years maybe, however, something changed his life, he probably only can live for few days, but he can live without drug, can use his mind to think, to feel this world again. what would he chose?
