For the last few months I have had a mark -like a freckle just under my eye.I can feel it if I run my fingers over it but couldnt 'pick' at it.

I am conscious of need for vigilance etc but at what age would you expect to start getting any type of blemish as oppposed to something sinister..Im 49 BTW and have a good complexion hence me being aware of it.

I am so reluctant to go to the Docs as they document every damned tooting thing and when you fill out a form re your health its like you have had every disease known to man -as you have been to your GP about it -if you answer truthfully that is-even if you havent.Phew !!

Anyone else have this and would you try and pick it severely -im not joking -I have been tender so far !!!

Who is Tiny Mark? What a lucky boy!
Seriously Dris, try not to pick it, it could be a small mole.
Long time no see! Get off to the docs, woman. I bet it's nothing to worry about. My mum had something similar, and it turned out to be a small wart of some type. It was removed very quickly and painlessly.
I'm 42 and have a few "sun damage" marks on my hands and a couple on my face. I've never been a sun worshipper and my Dr very kindly said, "it's your age"!

don't pick! I'd say keep it clean and use moisturiser, which tends to help lift-off anything that is lift-off-able!

Hey Icey xx
Think thats what it could be -better safe than sorry suppose -coward at heart lol

Thanks both -could bear to google it -just sometimes you wish you hadnt -know what i mean !!!!
Hiya Dris,

I would seriously consider going to the docs if you're worried about it hun. I had something unusual going on in a place I won't mention but I went and had tests and everything seems Ok now.
They freeze them, and they just drop off. Good job it was only a wart.

Sorry Sara -didnt see you there!

Its been there for months now and I am so conscious of it -I mousturise and cleanse with dedication that i dont have for any other part of my body so i'm really aware of it.

I'll pop to my Docs and hear the news i;m deading -its your age lol !!!

Icey -its the night he has to go to bed early cos he is up in the early hours so I leave him until he gets into a deep sleep then slink through and he then wakens up and I then get called all the names under the sun for tip toing -honest -think i'll just get the duvet on the coouch and got to bed when he gets up lol !! Any excuse to catch up with all my recorded progs!!
It's probably just a liver spot. maybe caused by hormonal changes, but you should go and have it looked at.
ageing.. don't you just love it?!!
Don't mention that word....quake! : (
dris what are you doing on here of an evening LOL
most prob starting of a skin tag but your gp would be the only one to diagnose this. noooooo do not pick it slaps hands lol
Ah-ha! THAT'S what it is dris. You've been picking your nose at some stage girl! : )

Hey TB -glad it was OK -think its the fear of going to the Docs thats the worst at times.

Hey BB -yip unusual for me but have to let H get a sleep cos he is up early and has to drive down south and then do a full days work -pretty knackering.(:

Ta Velvetee -wondered myself if thats what it could be -but im through the menopause had an early one -way to go !!.Doesnt mean tho that it cant be age related.

I'll let you know how I get on -its miniscule but once you see it you cant help but touch it -know the feeling girls lol

Icey -dont you be telling them all my secrets now -crusty ones at the end of your nose are the best ones -first thing in the morning -even better when you have the cold -what was your fave again -tee hee !!!
Oh god!! NOOOooooo!!!!!! Shudder!!!!! Noses and.....eurgh!!!!

Scuttles off quickly.
sounds like a skin tag - doctor can freeze it off, but perhaps you should wait until it's big enough to be actually seen without a microscope? One of the little indignities of getting older

jno thats what i have posted a skin tag....some peeps cut them off with scissors but they come back again..gp will tie the tag and it will fall off of its own accord
Question Author
PMSL Icey

jno -looks exactly like thats what its gonna become -just in the right place as well -below the eye -will still go down to the Docs tho and then he can monitor it until it can be removed.Ta !!
scissors? eek. Actually I believe they sometimes return even when frozen off properly, but not for a few years; then you just get them done again.
Oh don't!!! I once tried doing that with a skin tag under my arm. it stung like hell when I tied cotton round it. Anyway, it just disappeared of its own accord, but if I ever got another, I'd have it frozen off!

My dad has loads on his body-what I have hasnt developed into anything -its still a blemish.Could be genetic tho -theres a thought !

O surely that would hurt like hell tying string round it or cutting it off with scissors -o gee whizz -I feel sick now !!

Had 2 kids as well but stiil get squemish at the thought of that!!!
