summer insect bites

is there a product that will stop insect bites, ie: such as gnats , midges etc. and why is it that they seem to prefer females to males. or am i imagining it, many thanks.

I just buy insect repellant from Boots with Deet in it (bit strong for this country, but seems to do the trick).

On holiday in Scotland last year, I found that I remained relatively unbitten, whereas friends got eaten alive. I was regularly wiping my hands and face with "Wet Ones". I think they must dislike the scent of this or something.

hi i asked a similar question on here not long ago and was told to use avon skin so soft body oil and it really does work. plus it keeps your skin soft.
also take a garlic capsule everyday as the insects dont like the taste of garlic in your blood. really does work

Agree with the Avon Skin So Soft - woodland fresh (green bottle), also drinking tonic water, with or without gin, seems to help too.
