Quote (from the Daily Mail):
"For most, burping is a benign sign of stomach gas - excess swallowed air trapped in our digestive systems.

Burping may be a sign of having eaten foods high in fibre. Excessive burping can also indicate being lactose intolerance.

Lactase is an enzyme that breaks down lactose in the digestive tract. If it's missing, many foods, including milk and other dairy products, can't be digested properly, resulting in gas.

Burping a lot may also signal gallbladder disorders or even stomach or colon cancer.

Other signs of these conditions include bloating, weight loss and vomiting blood.

Excessive burping with severe nausea or vomiting may be danger signs of a heart attack."

A very common cause is swallowing too much air when you eat or drink - usually cause by eating and drinking far too quickly

I never said that!

She is obviously a very busy lady, multitasking her way through the day and grabbing food on the run.

Smoking (if you do) doesn't help either as you are taking in more air.

Do you get any indigestion like symptoms? If so then indigestion remedies may help as well as watching what you eat eg cutting down on fatty, greasy, spicy foods and ones which cause extra gas or indigestion may help.

Eat your meals slowly and properly - one of my problems is that during the day I eat on the run while I'm working which doesn't help as your body finds it harder to digest your food properly.

Things like anti-wind tablets can help and you can get charcoal tablets or peppermint tablets (much nicer tasting though you get minty burps :)) which can help.

If you have any other symptoms like pain in your stomach, chest or back then pop and see your GP as it can be a sign of a stomach ulcer or gallbladder problem and some other things.
