Antibiotics and the pill

I started a 5 day (although I didnt finish it) course of antibiotics on tues and started my week off on the thurs, this resulted in me having my period on the Mon.
I'm on Microgynon 30 and was taking flucloxocillan antibiotics. On Sunday (around a week after the antis) I had sex. We didnt use the condom right away and my bf felt himself tense up a bit although hes not 100% sure anything escaped! I'm really worried theres a possibility I could be pregnant. I didn't start taking my pill until the Thurs. I've been on the pill for 2 years. What do we think? I don't hav time to get the morning after pill. I hav taken it once before to cover a skipped pill which according to family planning, was a bit hasty. It had horrible side affects. Am I over-worrying?

There is a slight possiblilty that you are pregnant. Even discounting the antibiotics, sex without a condom is a risk, even if your bf didn't *** properly without a condom there is a slight chance that some sperm could have 'escaped' before he put the condom on.

Unlikely, but possible that you are pregnant. CheekyChops is right. The 'period' that you started on the Monday is not a real period, it's called a withdrawl bleed.

Definitely should make time to go get the morning after pill - you can get it from a high street chemist, no need to go to family planning.

Two things - why on earth would you have unprotected sex after being on antibiotics (the leaflet will tell you to use condoms for 7 days after finishing the course whether you're on your break or not)???? Your pill won't have been effective from the day that you started taking your antibiotics.

Number two - don't take antibiotics if you're not going to finish the course. It leads to antibiotic resistence and is one of the reasons that we have things like MRSA today.

hi, i am in exactly the same boat as u, well nearly.
i finished my pill on the tuesday, finished my antibiotics (flucloxocillin) on the wed and did not take my next pill until the thursday as i forgot to take it on the wednesday (forgetting the carry on the pill after taking AB's) so in theory i missed a pill BUT i havnt had sex for about 4 weeks before taking the AB's and havnt had sex at all after taking the AB's and forgetting my pill. how did u go on?? xx
