Since I started using hair dye around 3 years ago to cover greying hair my hair has become very thin at the front. Could this be because of the chemicals in Hair Dye?

It depends on whether the dye contains hydrogen peroxide (bleach. Many dyes contain this and work by stripping your hair of colour first and then dying it. Many people do suffer hair damage due to too much use of hydrogen peroxide. It can make the hair brittle and lifeless. Many products now don't contain this - check the packet to see.
Could be that or maybe your hair is "thinning" meaning the pattern of balding starts.
It could be - but as with any form of hair disorder it could be to do with any part of your body being unhealthy. The hair tends to be the first place to show this, along with the skin and the eyes. I would advise first and foremost going to your doctors...and then using natrual hair colourants such as henna.
