The question is flawed. The "soul" is just a religious concept that doesn't actually exist in the real world. So it doesn't go anywhere.

It's one of these questions that we just don't know the answer to. Different people, different religions, different philosophies have different answers or rather speculations and beliefs about this. There are many who (like jenstar) claim that the soul is just a concept - and again, maaoli, that is a valid view. I am a minister, but I do not claim to have the answers on this one. I do believe we have souls and that they are released after we die - but this is just a personal belief. As to where the soul goes, I don't have the answer - I can only speculate.

The Bible (if you believe in it) says "The soul that is sinning, it itself will die" (can't remember the verse now). Since we're all sinners, we can resonably believe that the soul dies when we die. I don't believe it goes to any special place.

ROFL IR you are a piece of work aren't you. You have completely twisted the original message of Christianity, a religous person who believes and worships god but thinks every persons soul will die with physical death. You got some thinking to do son, your acceptance of christianity is completely at odds with your own personal beliefs. As for the question, I believe the answer will be found in our consciouness, which is something I am beginning to read about now. The soul is a religious concept, and logically I am forced to say nothing survives death, but I cannot be 100% sure.
